Coming Soon - Wedding Photos!

I spent yesterday being the second shooter at a wedding - so much fun, but SO tiring. I'll get some of the photos up soon! :-)

Evolution of a design

This past spring, I designed a logo for Photogenic Images. Dori and I went round and round... we were delayed by some things (my husband's appendectomy, Dori's wedding, etc.) and went through many different design options as serious possibilities. I think we both had a lot of fun playing with ideas until the perfect one came up! But here's the evolution of this design, from the first "front runner" idea to the final product!

Dori is a kind of quirky fun girl combined with some classic elements... so that's the look we were originally going for...

Number 1: A little art deco, combined with the idea of being in the camera's "cross hairs":
Number 2: Still a little deco, adding a little script-y flair:

Number 3: A little frilly play on a popular design look out there these days (taking a break from the deco for a minute...):

Number 4: A sleek, classy look:

Number 5: Combining some elements and ideas of 3 & 4:

And finally, Number 6: The final product!

Runners-Up!

When I was designing Nell's business card, I came up with 2 more designs that I loved. Nell chose her favorite, but I just had to share the rest as well... they're too fun to let slip into design oblivion...

New Business Stuff - Swanky Strokes by Sarah

Sarah is opening her own Etsy shop (if you don't know about Etsy - click here). She's doing some really cool hand painted items and needed an equally cool banner and avatar.

Ms. Nell asked me for a business card design and an address label design and I was more than happy to oblige!

The website address and the e-mail address are real if you want to track her down... the phone number and the mailing address are not. You'll have to ask her for those yourself! :-)

The Business Card:

The address label:

"Best Unity Candle Ever."

Or at least so says one of my brides, Stefanie, who had her wedding this summer and put her monogram on her unity candle. It looked beautimous, so I just had to share!

Special thanks to Stef and Virginia-based photographer Dean Hoffmeyer for the photo!
